To provide an expanded grid material for lead-acid battery, which can be easily manufactured with high productivity and which can restrain the lowering of capacity and which has excellent lifetime performance, by pressing a transfer roll, to which lead alloy powder or melted lead alloy is sprayed, to a lead alloy sheet to be fed, and pressing the lead alloy on the transfer sheet onto the lead alloy sheet for transfer.
A transfer roll 7, to which Pb-Sb group melted lead alloy is sprayed by a spray device 6, is pressed to a lead alloy sheet 1a, which is unwound from an uncoiler 12 and which does not include Sb, and a melted lead alloy 9 on the transfer roll 7 is transferred onto the lead alloy sheet 1a. A surface of a horizontal sheet at a central part of a top surface of the lead alloy sheet 1a is formed with a non-transfer part as a collecting lug part. With this structure, a lead alloy sheet 1b as a raw material of expanded grid for lead-acid battery is obtained. A lead alloy layer, which is formed by transference, contacts with an active material filled in an expand grid, which is formed by expanding the lead alloy sheet 1b for grid, and restrains the corrosion of the grid surface so as to prevent the deformation of grid, contraction and fall of the active material.
