Abstract:

PURPOSE: To facilitate the formation of a colored supporting loop by arranging a liquid biocompatible plastic adjacently to the first part made of solid biocompatible plastic which is sterilizable and polimerizing both and coloring the outer part thereby. CONSTITUTION: A slender transparent rod 28 formed of PMMA is arranged at the center of a mold 30. The liquid biocompatible plastic is injected to the circumference of this rod 28. The material is set up to effect polymn. reaction and the integrally colored peripheral coating 36 is formed along the rod 28. The composite C formed in such a manner is sliced to form a disk B which is further subjected to lathing, etc. The intraocular lens is thus obtd.
