To provide a stable metal honeycomb body for a catalyst of which a corrugated sheet and a flat sheet are prevented from mutually moving and consequently of which both sheets are prevented from being loosened at the time when the metal honeycomb body is manufactured by overlaying the corrugated sheet and the flat sheet and spirally rolling these layered sheets, to make no need of a process of joining the corrugated sheet and the flat sheet by spot-welding or soldering, which is conventionally needed, to simplify the manufacturing facility, and to lower the cost.

Projecting parts 5, 5' are formed in the middle of the upper faces of the ridge parts 1 and in the middle of the bottom faces of the valley parts 2 of a corrugated sheet 4 and on the other hand, a projecting strip 7 to be overlapped with the middle part of the upper faces of the ridge parts 1 and the middle part of the bottom faces of the valley parts 2 is linearly formed in the middle of the upper face of a flat sheet 6, the corrugated sheet and the flat sheet 6 are layered, the projecting parts in the middle of the bottom faces of the valley parts 2 of the corrugated sheet 4 are interlocked with the projecting strip 7 of the flat sheet 6 in the up and down direction and restricted and after that the resultant sheets are spirally rolled to interlock and restrict the projecting parts 5, 5' in the middle of the upper faces of the ridge parts 1 of the corrugated sheet 4 with the projecting strip 7 of the flat sheet 6.
