Abstract:
PURPOSE: To extend the charge/discharge cycle life and improve the activity by surface-treating a specific hydrogen storage alloy with an acid aqueous solution added with a reducing agent.
CONSTITUTION: A hydrogen storage alloy lump obtained by annealing the hydrogen storage alloy lump and having the heterogeneous strain of 3.5×10-3 or below is crushed in the inert gas to obtain hydrogen storage alloy powder. The hydrogen storage alloy powder is crushed in a solution added with a reducing agent to an acid aqueous solution having the pH value of 0.5-6.0, the surface treatment is applied, then it is washed with water and dried.
