Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a metallic drum which prevents water from oozing in between a drum part and a circular member and further is capable of saving man-hours and improving productivity by faborably executing seaming of high jointing strength.
SOLUTION: First, a plurality of slits 15a are formed along upper and lower ends of a sheet, then right and left ends of the sheet is jointed to form a cylindrical drum part 2. On the other hand, a chuck wall part 9 and a seaming wall part 10 folded back downward from the peripheral part of the chuck wall part 9 are formed on a circular member 4. After that, the circuit member 4 is fitted with and made to cover the opening end of the drum part 2 on which the slit 15a is formed, and then the seaming wall part 10 is brought into press-contact with the chuck wall 9 holding the opening end of the drum part 2, and thus a seamed part 6 is formed.
