Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent bubbles in glass from being generated at the intersection part of two crossing grooves by manufacturing a combined substrate, then preparing a track groove, and glass-molding the substrate in a single direction.

CONSTITUTION: A thin ferritic substrate 14 to be an upper core, a non-magnetic substrate 15, and a protective plate 16 in the same type as the thin ferritic substrate are thermally press-bonded. Next a track groove 14 is worked so as to obtain a depth arriving at the non-magnetic substrate member 15, and thus a groove worked substrate 17 is obtained. Next a molten glass member is arranged on a track groove worked surface 17a of the substrate 17 at suitable intervals, the substrate 17 is glass-molded, and the excessive glass which is not used for filling is eliminated. Next mirror surface wrap work is executed for the track groove worked surface 17a, further the surface is cut by broken lines g-g',... and several core blocks II 18 are obtained. Then a core separating groove 6 is formed as the multi-track core, bonded and connected to a film prepared pattern surface 8 of a substrate 9 to be formed to the thin film pattern, and thus the electromagnetic conductive thin film magnetic head core is finished.
