Title:
MANUFACTURE OF NECKED-IN CAN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5829537
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To decrease the number of neckers to half and thus reduce the size of facilities, and to reduce the cost for the facilities, by imposing necked-in work upon both ends of a cylinder can, and then cutting the cylinder can and thus obtaining bodies of separate cans.

CONSTITUTION: A body maker is used to manufacture a cylinder can 12. The can 12 has height nearly equal to the total height of two necked-in cans 17. Then, necked-in work is imposed upon both end parts of the can 12 by using a necker to obtain a necked-in cylinder can 14 having necked-in parts 13. This necked-in cylinder can 14 is cut at its axial center part by using a separator to obtain two necked-in can bodies 17. Lastly, flanges 15 and 16 are formed at both ends of this necked-in can body 17 by using a normal plunger, thus obtaining a can body 18.
