Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing a nickel-hydrogen secondary improved in self-discharge characteristic during high temperature storage.
An electrode group 5 having a separator of synthetic resin fiber laid between a positive electrode 2 and a negative electrode 4 is housed in a battery can 1 together with an alkaline electrolyte and then the battery can 1 is sealed, thereby manufacturing a nickel-hydrogen secondary battery. In this case, the separator used for the secondary battery is preliminarily subjected to low temperature plasma treatment, using a hydrophilic property adding gas and a hydrophobic property adding gas.
