PURPOSE: To readily obtain highly concentrated titled dispersion of extremely high stability, by block copolymerization, in an organic solvent, between peroxy or azo bond-contg. copolymer and fluorine-contg. vinyl monomer.
CONSTITUTION: The objective dispersion can be obtained by carrying out a block copolymerization between (A) a peroxy or azo bond-contg. copolymer prepared by copolymerization pref. at 60W140°C for 3W15hr between (i) a polymeric peroxide of furmula I , II, III, IV, V, VI (R1 is 1W18C alkylene, etc., R2 is 2W10C alkylene, etc.; n is 2W30), etc., or polyazo compound of formula VII (R7 is methyl or cyano; m is 0W1) and (ii) a vinyl monomer (e.g., acrylic acid) and (B) a fluorine-contg. vinyl monomer (e.g., CF2=CCl2) in the presence of (C) an organic solvent capable of dissolving the polymer from the component (ii) but incapable of dissolving the polymer from the component (B) (e.g., DMF).
EFFECT: Capable of providing coating film of high smoothness.
