PURPOSE: To provide the method for manufacturing an oxide superconductive formed body light in weight and excellent in superconducting properties at low cost.
CONSTITUTION: In the method for manufacturing an oxide superconductive formed body in which a raw material layer 2 capable of forming an oxide superconductor is formed on a formed body 1 made of silver into a composite formed body 3, and the above composite formed body 3 is subjected to heating treatment, at the time of subjecting the above composite formed body 3 to the heating treatment, gaseous pressure is applied to the inside of the above composite formed body 3, and an air passable supporting body 6 is applied to the outside to prevent it. The need of reinforcing the composite formed body 3 by heat resistant metal is eliminated, by which its lightening in weight and the reduction of its cost can be attained. Furthermore, because oxygen can sufficiently be supplied at the time of heating treatment, its superconducting properties improve.
