Abstract:
1. A process for the preparation of an oxirane by reacting the corresponding olefinically unsaturated compound with an organic peroxide in the liquid phase and in the presence of a supported catalyst, as epoxidation catalyst, whose active material chiefly contains titanium dioxide and whose carrier mainly consists of silicon dioxide or a silicate, wherein the organic peroxide used is cyclohexanone peroxide.
