Abstract:
PURPOSE: To form easily spiral secondary grooves, intersecting with primary grooves, in the inner surface of a metallic pipe, by pressing the pipe by a planetary revolving means, and drawing it by a die successively.
CONSTITUTION: Planetary rolls 9 and a die 7 are arranged, respectively oppositely to a primary groove-forming plug 2 and a secondary groove-forming plug 3, at the outside of a metallic pipe 1. the continuous, spiral primary-grooves are formed in the longitudinal direction in the inner surface of pipe 1, by pressing the rolls 9 against the pipe 1. And successively, the whole spiral secondary- grooves, intersecting shallowly with the primary grooves, are formed by drawing the pipe 1 by the die 7.
