PURPOSE: To provide the method to manufacture a porous (foamed) insulated electric wire of excellent external appearance without difficulty and at high speed.
CONSTITUTION: An element wire (conductor) 1 from a feeder 4 is coated with an ultraviolet ray cross-linking porous resin composition being (a material prepared by adding a soluble compound into an ultraviolet ray cross-linking material 14; hereinafter called an insulating material) in a coating bath 5. In an ultraviolet ray irradiation furnace, ultraviolet rays are then applied to the insulating material wherewith the element wire 1 is coated, so that the insulating material is cured. Furthermore, the soluble compound contained in the coated and cured insulating material is removed from the element wire 1 or the conductor 1 with the insulating material through a warm water elution bath 7. Thereafter, a porous insulated electric wire is wound round a winder 9 through a drying furnace 8 and the winder 9.
