PURPOSE: To provide the manufacturing method of a porous structural body of improving fusion bonding strength of resin particles without setting the heating temperature of vapor and retaining the shape of resin particles after fusion bonding.
CONSTITUTION: Resin particles (a) composed of thermoplastic resin particles with their surfaces coated with a resin softening agent are used as a material. Said coated resin particles (a) are filled in a cavity 3 formed by a male mold 1 and a female mold 2 and heat fusion bonded by introducing vapor to manufacture a porous structural body 5. The surfaces of resin particles (a) heated by the vapor are easily melted, and respective adjacent resin particles (a) are fusion bonded on the particle interfaces strongly, and as the surfaces only are melted, the shape of resin particles (a) is retained spherical, and a porous structural body of high quality can be manufactured.
