Abstract:
PURPOSE: To manufacture a thick sheet-shaped thermosetting preformed product durable in the lateral direction and the mechanical direction.
CONSTITUTION: Thermosetting synthetic pastes 5 and 6 are applied uniformly on the surfaces of a couple of impregnation rolls 20 and 21 disposed in the horizontal direction, over which reinforcing material short fibers 10 are spread continuously, and pastes 5 and 6 and the reinforcing material short fibers 10 are passed through a gap 23 between the impregnation rolls 20 and 21 to manufacture works W1 and W2 as a mixture of the pastes 5 and 6 and the reinforcing material short fiber 10. Then the works are scraped off from above the respective impregnations rolls 20 and 21 by scrapers 24 and 25 and dropped onto a film 15 on a conveyor belt 31 below the scrapers 24 and 25 while the works are undulated during dropping, and a reservoir W0 of the given depth (b) is formed on the film, and then the materials are transferred to the lower face of another endless conveyor belt 32, and a sheet-shaped thermosetting preformed product S of given width is manufactured between the belts 31 and 32.
