Title:
MANUFACTURE OF PROPELLER SHAFT MADE OF FIBER-REINFORCED PLASTIC
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5670917
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable to produce a subject shaft, having a high strength, in a short process, by a method wherein a pair of yokes are held directly on a mandrel by inserting outside the madrel, and filaments impregnated with resin is wound for heat-molding.

CONSTITUTION: A pair of yokes 11 are held on a mandral 10 at a proper distance by inserting outside the madrel, and filaments 15 impregnated with resin is wound by a filament winding method around the yokes 11 and a portion ranging between the yokes 11. After being pressurized and heat-molded, the mandrel 10 is removed to obtain a propeller shaft 16 made of fiber-reinforced plastic. The formation of the fiber-reinforced plastic directly on the yoles and the portion between the yokes permits shortening of a process and the increase in an adhesion strength.
