Abstract:

PURPOSE: To efficiently display the high magnetic characteristics and high corro sion resistance by a method wherein the powder in the main phase and RE-TM phase in lower melting point than that of the main phase powder are mixed with each other for manufacturing a sintered magnet by the ordinary powder metallurgy to be formed into a composition encircling the main phase with the low melting point phase.

CONSTITUTION: The material powder consisting of the powder of RE2TM14B (where RE is one or exceeding two kinds of elements selected out of Y, Sc and lanthanoid and TM is one or exceeding two kinds of elements selected out of Fe, Co and Ni) coated with RE-TM base which has a lower melting point in film thickness of 10nm-3.0μm is compression-molded to be sintered later. As for the coating method of the main phase with the low melting point alloy, thermal evaporating step, sputtering step, ion plating step, non-electrolytic plating step, etc., are in particular favorably applicable. Through these procedures, the low melting point alloy in the same quantity as that of the conventional alloy can realize the higher coersive force and corrosion resistance.
