PURPOSE: To manufacture a high quality reel by heat treating an aluminum alloy material after it is cut into a sheet form, applying light pressure to same, giving tensile correction at a defined elongation percentage and blanking same into a defined reel shape.

CONSTITUTION: After heat treating a sheet made of an aluminum alloy material, the sheet is subjected to a 1-2% light pressing in its thickness direction and, then to tensile correction at an elongation percentage of 0.2-1% by means of a stretcher to mechanically reduce the residual stress of the sheet, thereby obtaining a desired accuracy of flatness. In this case, since the sheet is subjected to skin pass under a low pressure to be fixed without shifting, even when the tensile correction is applied to the sheet, the nonconformity of surface such as stretcher strain, etc., will not take place on the sheet surface, to obtain a sheet with excellent surface quality. After that, a defined blanking is carried out to provide defined holes such as, an installing center hole 2, visually recognizing windows 3, tapped holes 4 for machine screws, etc., on the sheet, to obtain a reel body 1 with excellent flatness and surface quality.
