PURPOSE: To increase a time of an operation of an apparatus for manufacturing a resin pellet and to reduce a size by preventing adherence of resin to a cutter blade when a strandlike resin to be extruded from a resin extrusion hole of a die body is cut in the apparatus.

CONSTITUTION: A resin extrusion hole formed at a periphery of a side of a cylindrical die body 11 is intermittently opened and closed by a valve unit having a groove 15 formed on a rotor 14 disposed in the body and a protrusion 16. A cutter blade 35 of a cutter 31 moving around the body 12 in synchronization with the rotation of the rotor 14 is closed by the valve unit to cut a strandlike resin output from a resin extrusion hole 12 stopped for extruding of the resin while spraying coolant thereto.
