PURPOSE: To manufacture a titanium material having an isometric recrystallized structure at a low cost, by rolling a high temperature titanium at higher than the β transformation point under a vacuum with a rolling roll, and then, by applying a cold rolling process with a prescribed draft percentage and annealing treatment.
CONSTITUTION: A molten titanium is introduced into a couple of rotating, cooled cupper made rolls 2, 2 installed within a vacuum housing 1; hereby, the molten titanium is continously cooled and solidified. This titanium just solified at a high temperature higher than the β transformation point is continuously rolled, and the rolled strip is coiled around a roll 3. Thus rolled β-titanium is again cold rolled with ≥50% draft percentage, and is then annealed.
