Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve an optical coupling efficiency of an optical fiber by forming a substance which disturbs the contact of high molecular adhesive with the outer periphery of a light producing surface, thereby accurately mounting a condensing lens on the center of a light emitting region. CONSTITUTION:After a light emitting diode body 7 is formed, high molecular substance film (contact preventing body) 21 which is formed of fluorine resin is deposited on an electrode 5 around a light producing surface (a light output window), suitable droplets of liquid epoxy resin (high molecular adhesive) 22 are dropped to form a semispherical lens 23. A lens which has a desired diameter can be formed by regulating the dropping amount of the resin 22. The position of the lens 23 is specified at the position to form the film 21, and the lens 23 can be accurately formed on the center of the light emitting region 2a.
