Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily and efficiently prepare a short fiber-containing rubber structure low or high in the coefficient of friction.

CONSTITUTION: Since the whole of the surface of rubber after vulcanization or a part thereof is ground by a grindstone consisting of grinding particles negative in the rake angle of cutting matter in order to shave off an elastic base material 1 so as to leave short fibers 2 having high modulus of elasticity such as diamond grinding particles with relative speed difference of 500-1000m/min, the protruding length of the fibers from the surface of the elastic base material 1 becomes large and the short fibers 2 become a curled state to increase the occupying area of the short fibers 2 and a staple fiber-containing rubber structure low in the surface coefficient of friction is obtained.
