Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide he silver halide photosensitive material superior in sensitivity, fog resistance, and graininess by incorporating 2 kinds of silver halides different in composition car grain size in an emulsion.
CONSTITUTION: The silver halide emulsion contains 2 kinds of phases A, B of silver halides. The A phase is obtained by forming in the presence of fine silver iodide grains, silver halide different from silver iodide, for example, silver bromide and the B phase is formed by feeding fine silver halide grains higher in solubility product than the fine silver iodide grains of the A phase, thus permitting not only sensitivity, fog, and graininess to be improved but also growth time to be reduced.
