Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the manufacture of a spark plug, by which edges of an electrode surface for spark discharge can be industrially and uniformly mass-produced, and by which the reduction in a discharge voltage can be attained with small dispersion.
CONSTITUTION: In the manufacture of a spark plug comparing the steps of pressing and forming powdery material mainly composed of a noble metal powder, sintering the press-formed body so as to produce a chip 5 which is to be fixedly mounted to an igniting part predetermined edges 6 are formed on an igniting surface upon the press-forming of the chip followed by sintering them.
