Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a steel rubber in which the peripheral length and the pitch are constant and inner and outer treated rubbers are integrated by passing a steel cord uncoiled from a spool via a rubber extruder, covering the entire surface of the cord with the treated rubbers, and then winding it on a molding drum.
CONSTITUTION: A steel cord W wound on a spool 1 is guided to a rubber extruder 2, and simultaneously extruded together with treated rubber from the base of the extruder 2, thereby covering the periphery of the cord W with the rubber in a square sectional shape. It is wound on a molding drum 4 in which the surface is processed with Teflon, etc., via a stitcher roller 5 by a traverser 3 having a plurality of traverser rollers 31-33. That is, the cord W is sequentially wound at a predetermined pitch on the drum 4 in which the peripheral length is set to a predetermined length, thereby manufacturing a steel rubber band for a rubber crawler in which the cord W is wound in a linear row.
