Abstract:

PURPOSE:To provide a tappet for which the upper surface and lower surface of a tappet top plate can be formed of abrasion-resistant material simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:A top plate base material part 1c extending integrally with a hollow cylindrical wall 1a of a tappet 1 and closing the hollow cylindrical wall is formed with a recessed part 5 provided at its center. Abrasion-resistant material 2 is fused and applied from a cam surface side to cover the whole upper surface of the top plate base material part and fill the recessed part simultaneously, a bottom of the recessed part is eliminated from the valve shaft end side, and the abrasion-resistant material is exposed to be a valve containing surface 3.
