PURPOSE: To make a torque rod light in weight by using an end made of aluminum.
CONSTITUTION: An enlarged part 16 having a rugged part is formed at both end parts of a connecting rod 11 made of an iron pipe. By rotating relatively the connecting rod 11 and the end 10 made of aluminum while a projecting part 13 for connecting an end 10 is brought into contact with the enlarged part 16, friction heat is generated. By deforming the projecting part 13 for connecting the end 10 softened by the friction heat so as to surround the enlarged part 16, the end 10 and the connecting rod 11 are integrated into one body. Since the end occupying the most part of weight is made of aluminum, a torque rod suitable for a vehicle severe in the requirement of making it light in weight, is attained. Also, since the end 10 is connected to the connecting rod 11 by the bite of the rugged part, a connecting part resistant to a large angular moment is formed.
