PURPOSE: To surely remove incompletely interwoven fibers by performing a water- column jet treatment at a predetermined hydraulic pressure after a high-pressure water column treatment, in a method comprising laminating paper sheets on the surface of long-fiber nonwoven fabric, and interweaving the fibers by means of a high-pressure jet of water column while transferring the lamination.
CONSTITUTION: To manufacture towels such as industrial wastes and disposable towels, paper sheets are laminated on the surface of long-fiber nonwoven fabric and the lamination 3 of the long-size sheets obtained is transferred using a transfer conveyor 4 made of a water-permeable member such as a wire gauze. During the transfer process, water is ejected from a high-pressure water column injection device 1 from the paper sheets to the long-fiber nonwoven fabric at pressures between e.g. 10 and 150kg/cm2 or so, and the lamination 3 is passed through this high-pressure jet of water column so that the pulp fibers constituting the paper sheets are isolated and interwoven with the long fibers of the non woven fabric. Thereafter, incomplete fibers remaining on the surface of the interwoven fiber sheet and among the fibers are removed by a jet of water column ejected from the water column injection device 2 at 10 to 50% of the hydraulic pressure of the high-pressure jet of water column.
