To provide a manufacturing apparatus and a manufacturing method of a (meth)acrylic polymer which can stably manufacture the (meth)acrylic polymer containing a small amount of volatile components.
The manufacturing apparatus of the (meth)acrylic polymer comprises a polymerization tank, a devolatilizing extrusion apparatus, a connecting part for connecting the polymerization tank to the devolatilizing extrusion apparatus, and a mechanical back-pressure valve provided at the connecting part. The manufacturing method of the (meth)acrylic polymer comprises a step for continuously feeding a raw material composition comprising (meth)acrylic monomers, a radical polymerization initiator and a chain transfer agent to the polymerization tank, a step for causing at least a part of the (meth)acrylic monomers to polymerize in the polymerization tank to form a reaction mixture, a step for continuously drawing out the reaction mixture from the polymerization tank, a step for adjusting the pressure of the reaction mixture by the mechanical back-pressure valve, and a step for subjecting the reaction mixture with its pressure adjusted to the devolatilization treatment to obtain the (meth)acrylic polymer.
