To provide a laser irradiation device capable of easily coping with changes in the laser beam resisting strength of the surface of a steel sheet and always stably suppressing the occurrence of laser irradiation marks, in grain oriented silicon steel sheet manufacturing equipment where the iron loss of grain oriented silicon steel sheet is reduced by laser irradiation and the occurrence of surface laser irradiation marks is suppressed.
In the manufacturing equipment for a grain oriented silicon steel sheet, laser beam irradiation is applied to the surface of a grain oriented silicon steel sheet to improve magnetic properties. In this manufacturing equipment, condensing 3 to 6 for converging the laser beam passed through a condenser lens converging an irradiated laser beam or reflected by a mirror 2, etc., are provided indenpendently with respect to respective sheet-width direction and rolling direction, respectively. Further, respective distances from respective condensing parts to the surface of the steel sheet to be irradiated are regulated independently, and the diameter of the irradiated laser beam in a sheet-width direction and that in a rolling direction can be arbitrarily regulated.
