This manufacturing facility for compressed air comprises at least one variable speed compressor to control its displacement by changing the rotation speed of a driving motor, constant speed compressors having a constant rotating speed and controlling its displacement by two stages of a full load operation or a stop, an air tank to be supplied with discharged air of these compressors, and a control means for carrying out the displacement change of the variable speed compressor and the shaft-stop control of the constant speed compressors in order in accordance with the change of a pressure in the air tank. When the quantity of compressed air used varies beyond the range of changeable displacement of the variable speed compressor, the air pressure in the tank is maintained in a designated range by starting the constant speed compressors or stopping them in order.
