To improve the appearance of a border part on the surface of a skin in a laminate with two or more different types of color or pattern.

A sheet material 30A to serve as a skin, with different colors or patterns on the surface formed from a parting line as a border, is thermally softened, then this soft sheet material 30A is held between a first molding tool 10 and a second molding tool 20, and a synthetic resin material 35A which becomes a base material through curing is put into a space between the back face of the sheeting 30A whose front face is brought into contact with the first mold surface 11 of the first molding tool 10 and the second mold surface 21 of the second molding tool 20. Thus the laminate made of the base material covered with the skin is obtained. Further, on the first molding tool 10, a slit forming plate 12 whose tip edge is brought into contact with the parting line of the sheeting 30A which comes into contact with the first mold surface 11 is provided in such a manner that the slit forming plate 12 is movable tilted. The slit forming plate 12 is caused to pop up from the first mold surface 11 by an actuating device 17. In the skin of the laminate, woodgrain-finished grooves of small width are formed by the slit forming plate 12. The parting line on the skin is concealed way deep inside the woodgrain-finished grooves.
