To prevent wettability deterioration of solder on terminal electrodes in a coil component which uses a drum-type core.
The coil component includes: a drum-type core 110 having a wound core 111 and a pair of collars 112, 113; terminal electrodes 141 to 146 provided on the collars 112, 113; and primary and secondary windings wound around the core 111. The secondary winding includes a wire 132 from one end to a center tap and a wire 133 from the other end to the center tap, while the wires 132 and 133 are wound around the core 111 in a manner mutually meeting each other. Since electrode areas of terminal electrodes 141, 144 are larger than those of other terminal electrodes 142, 143, 145, 146, heat loads applied to terminal electrodes 141, 144 can be mitigated when both ends of the wires 132, 133 that constitute the secondary winding are thermocompression-bonded to the terminal electrodes, and it is possible to prevent wettability deterioration of the solder on the terminal electrodes 141, 144.
