Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cushioning flooring having a well-foamed back layer formed with uniform and fine foam cells, and a method of manufacturing it, and cushioning flooring whose overall foamed condition is good. SOLUTION: The cushioning flooring 10 has a back layer 2 foamed using a pyrolytic blowing agent and fused to an unfoamed surface layer 1. The back layer 2 contains at least a foam modifier in a thermoplastic resin of which it is mainly composed. The entire flooring may contain the foam modifier and be foamed using the pyrolytic blowing agent. In either case, the layer foams well owing to the foam modifier, and uniform and fine foam cells can be formed. The method of manufacturing the former flooring 10 includes laminating a back-layer forming composition containing the pyrolytic blowing agent and the foam modifier with surface-layer forming materials, fusing them together at temperatures lower than the pyrolytic temperature of the blowing agent, and heating them from the back layer at temperatures above the pyrolytic temperature to allow the back layer to foam efficiently.
