To provide a manufacturing method of a cyclic polyolefin film, where a fear of flash ignition fire in a manufacturing process is reduced, the planarity is excellent, and the variation of retardation is reduced, and which is wrinkle-resistant in its manufacturing process.
The manufacturing method of the cyclic polyolefin film comprises a process of carrying out a flow casting of a solution, which contains the cyclic polyolefin of 10-35 mass%, and contains as a main solvent a chlorinated organic solvent as a starting material, on an endless metal support progressively, a process of drying to an extent such that the residual volatile matter content is 5-60 mass%, a process of peeling the resultant film off from the metal support with a peeling resistance of 0.25 N/cm or less, and a process of drying, followed by winding.
