Abstract:
To provide a method for producing cyclopentanone capable of producing cyclopentanone at a high selectivity coefficient.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing cyclopentanol including: a step (A) where a catalyst containing the oxide of copper and the oxide of silicon is dehydrated in an atmosphere having a water content of 1,000 vol.ppm or less to obtain a dehydration catalyst; and a step (B) where cyclopentanol is produced by the vapor phase dehydrogenation of cyclopentanol in the presence of the dehydration catalyst.SELECTED DRAWING: None
