The electric double layer capacitor electrode is manufactured by a process (I) of forming an active material layer by molding an electrode material containing an electrode active material, a binding agent and thermally-degradable polymer particles, a process (II) of laminating the active material layer and a collector, and a process (III) of heating the active material layer to 260 to 350C and degrading the thermally decomposable polymer particles.
