Abstract:
To provide a manufacturing method of an electronic control unit case for steering device which is lightweight, excellent in the corrosion resistance, does not need countermeasures for securing the electromagnetic shielding property and vibration attenuation property, and has the excellent strength, heat radiation property and deformation property.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of an electronic control unit case for steering device comprises the steps of: heating a magnesium alloy chip which contains 8.3 mass% or more and 9.7 mass% or less of Al, 0.35 mass% or more and 1.0 mass% or less of Zn, 0.15 mass% or more and 0.50 mass% or less of Mn and has a remainder consisting of Mg and inevitable impurities at a temperature between 550°C and 630°C to obtain the semi-molten magnesium alloy chip; and molding the semi-molten magnesium alloy chip. The steps of obtaining and molding the semi-molten magnesium alloy chip are executed under an atmosphere in which an active gas does not exist.SELECTED DRAWING: None
