To provide a ferrule manufacturing method which prevents a pin for forming a fiber hole from being deformed by the injecting pressure of a synthetic resin at molding and which excels in the accuracy of molding the fiber hole, and also to provide the ferrule.

This manufacturing method uses a metallic die 10 for molding the ferrule in the manner that pin holes for inserting a guide pin are formed, as are a plurality of fiber hole for inserting optical fibers between the pin holes, and an introducing port, in communication with the fiber holes, into which the optical fibers are introduced, and that the optical fibers are fixedly stuck to the fiber holes with an adhesive poured from the introducing port. The invention also relates to the ferrule. In manufacturing the ferrule, a plurality of pins 5b forming the fiber holes are held by a holding part 5, a supporting member 12a for supporting the guide pins or the holding part 5 is arranged between the positions corresponding to the front end face and the rear end face of the ferrule to be molded, and the molding is performed by arranging the holding part 5 inside the metallic die.
