Abstract:

To provide a forming method of a phosphor layer that prevents occurrence of color unevenness and luminance unevenness on a screen coping with higher definition and a larger screen.

A manufacturing method of an image display device for adhering phosphor ink to a substrate on which partition walls are formed, by using a phosphor applying device. The phosphor applying device comprises: a nozzle plate 36 on which a plurality of nozzles are formed; and a supplying unit 30 for supplying the phosphor ink to the nozzle plate 36. The nozzle plate 36 has a space 39 that communicates with the plurality of nozzles and is perpendicular to the nozzles. Flow paths of a forward path and a return path 30a and 30b for circulating the phosphor ink are formed inside the supplying unit 30 so as to be parallel to the nozzles. The supplying unit 30 is configured such that the phosphor ink flows through the space 39 from the flow path of the forward path 30a and through the flow path of the return path 30b and is circulated.
