Abstract:
To provide a titanium ingot or a titanium alloy ingot of excellent quality with less LDI (Low Density Inclusion).SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a titanium alloy ingot 52 includes: a raw material supply process of supplying a raw material 50; a melting process of melting the raw material 50; a refining process of refining a molten metal 51 at a hearth 7; and a casting process of casting the molten metal 51 supplied from the hearth 7. In the refining process, a flow direction D of the molten metal 51 is changed from a first direction D1 to a second direction D2. A depth L of the molten metal 50 becomes shallow as proceeding in the first direction D1, in a flow direction change region 29 where the flow direction D changes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
