To provide a manufacturing method of mercury storing capsule capable of correctly measuring the quantity of mercury to be sealed in a discharge tube like fluorescent lamp, which can be manufactured at low cost, and to provide a mercury storing capsule manufactured by the above method, and a fluorescent lamp using the mercury storing capsule.
A metal tube 1 is sealed by crushing a plurality of parts at every prescribed distance after filling mercury therein, at the same time or afterwards, the metal tube 1 is cut at respective crushed parts. By the above, mercury storing capsule 12 formed by filling mercury 3 in the metal tube 1 of which, both end parts are crushed and sealed, can be obtained without generating chips of mercury 3. After the metal tube is fitted into the fluorescent lamp tube 13 or the like, there is no apprehension of releasing the mercury, sealed in the metal tube 1 having both ends sealed by crushing, until the metal tube 1 is heated with a temperature exceeding a prescribed temperature, or boring a hole thereon.
