To provide a productive manufacturing method of a metal closed bottom or sealed container which is used for sealed batteries such as secondary batteries and has excellent deformation resistance and durability.
A flange part, which extends perpendicular to and outward relative to a metal pipe wall, is formed by performing press working to the metal pipe wall on one end or both ends of a cylindrical shape shell formed by a finite length metal pipe that opens at both ends. Then, a metal bottom plate or the bottom plate and a lid plate are placed on the flange part, and the flange part and the bottom plate or the flange part and the bottom plate and the lid plate are joined by laser welding. As the cylindrical shape shell formed by the finite length metal pipe, a square shape shell is preferable. Further, as the bottom plate or the bottom plate and the lid plate, an object, which has the form that an entire periphery side end part connects with a plane surface part forming a bottom part of a container or the bottom part and a lid part through a surface spreading inward of the container, is preferable.
