To provide a manufacturing method which can manufacture at low cost and effectively a lightweight mineral fiberboard of high strength which suppresses the occurrences of blowouts and springback of mineral fibers in a manufacturing process, and has no variation in thickness size.
The manufacturing method of the mineral fiberboard comprises a process of mixing and dispersing a main component, the mineral fibers, mineral powder, and a binder in water to obtain slurry 1, a process of wet-sheet-making the slurry 1 to mold a wet mat 3, a process of thickness-adjusting the wet mat 3 by press rolls 7, 8, and a process of drying the wet mat 3 to cure the binder. Before the process of thickness-adjusting, a heating process to the wet mat 3 and a suction-dewatering process to the wet mat 3 overlap at least partially to develop tack properties of the binder.
