Abstract:
To provide a negative electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery, high in initial efficiency and excellent in charge/discharge rate characteristics.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a negative electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery includes: a surface collision processing step of, by performing surface collision processing in which graphite particles collide with each other by a high-speed air flow, forming groove-shaped recesses on the surfaces of the graphite particles and obtaining graphite particles after surface collision processing; a coating step of mixing the graphite particles after surface collision processing and an amorphous carbon material raw material, coating the surfaces of the graphite particles after surface collision processing with the amorphous carbon material raw material, and obtaining amorphous carbon material raw material-coated graphite particles; and a firing step of firing the amorphous carbon material raw material-coated graphite particles at 800-1,200°C. In the surface collision processing step, a surface roughness increase rate C calculated by a formula (1): surface roughness increase rate C (%)=((surface roughness RB-surface roughness RA)/surface roughness RA)×100 (1) is 1.0% or more, and, in the coating step, a P/C ratio is 0.012-0.078.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
