Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin material that is useful for optical applications for which orientation birefringence is extremely small or a desired value, and a technique that allows for stably and reliably producing resin products such as an optical film with reduced temperature dependence of natural birefringence that affects optical properties.SOLUTION: Disclosed is an optical resin material which contains a series of multiple components having the number of component z of 2 or more, as defined under a condition that a dimension number x (x≥1) should be included in counting the number of components, and exhibits reduced temperature dependence of birefringence with an absolute value of a natural birefringence temperature coefficient of 1.0×10(°C) or less at 15-70°C, as obtained as a variation of natural birefringence per 1°C from a measurement result obtained through a process of incrementally controlling temperature of a uniaxially stretched film made of the series of multiple components over a range of 15-70°C and measuring natural birefringence Δnat each temperature. A manufacturing method for the optical resin material, and a film-like optical resin member and polarizing plate made of the optical resin material are also disclosed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
