To provide a manufacturing method of an original pattern for optical elements equipped with a liquid crystal layer which makes it possible to perform patterning with a high efficiency and a high quality, and also provide an original pattern for optical elements.
Firstly, a liquid crystal layer 12' which is not hardened is formed by coating radiantion curing type liquid crystal on a support base material 11 (Fig.(a)). Then, the liquid crystal layer 12 which is hardened is formed by irradiating the liquid crystal layer 12' which is not hardened with a fixed exposure of radiation in the fixed atmosphere (Fig.(b)). Finally, the liquid crystal layer 12 which is hardened is heated and baked at a fixed temperature using a hot plate 25 (Fig.(c)), by which a final original pattern for optical elements 10 is manufactured (Fig.(d)). In a radiant ray curing process and a baking process, the hardness distribution within a plane for the liquid crystal layer 12 is homogenized within a fixed range by homogenizing the distribution on the surface of the liquid crystal layer 12 related to each kind of manufacturing conditions (exoposure of radiantion, lighting intensity of radiant ray, oxygen density and hardening/baking temperatures) within a fixed range.
