To provide an impact-resistant member for jet engine using a light-weight and homogeneous pre-preg.
The pre-preg comprises a sheet-formed reinforcing fiber, particularly a carbon fiber material and a thermoplastic resin, particularly a polyetherimide resin impregnated to the same. A fluctuation value of the impregnated resin amount of the length direction and the width direction is each equal to or less than 3%. Such pre-preg excellent in homogeneity is used for manufacturing the impact-resistant jet engine member. The pre-preg is manufactured by the steps of; immersing the sheet-formed reinforcing fiber material into a suspension which is prepared by dispersing a thermoplastic resin powder in one or more organic solvents selected from the group consisting of an alcohol, a ketone, and a halogenated hydrocarbon or a mixed solvent of such organic solvent and water so as to attach the resinous powder to the reinforcing fiber material, and heating the material so as to melt the resinous powder.
