Abstract:
To provide a manufacturing method for a press molded article in which fracture and crack of a side wall part with respect to a bottom surface part can be suppressed in molding a press molded article having the bottom surface part and the side wall part.SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method for a press molded article 10, first molds 31 have first mold surfaces 31a that contact a first molding surface 22a of a portion that becomes a side wall part 12, and a second mold 32 has a second molding surface 32b that contacts a second molding surface 22b of a portion that becomes the side wall part 12, where in hot-ironing the portion that becomes the side wall part 12 by the first molding surfaces 31a and the second molding surface 32b, by moving the first mold surfaces in a direction in which the surfaces separate from a bottom surface part relatively with respect to the first molding surface and by moving the second mold surface in a direction in which the surface approaches the bottom surface part relatively with respect to the second molding surface, a coefficient μ1 of a friction between the first mold surface 31a and the first molding surface 22a and a coefficient μ2 of a friction between the second mold surface 32b and the second molding surface 22b satisfy the following formula (1): μ1<μ2 (1).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
