To provide a manufacturing method for a thermal transfer ribbon in which a terminal end of the thermal transfer ribbon can be inexpensively constituted into a state of an end free, and damage of a thermal head because of scattering of an adhesive or an adhesive face of an adhesive double-coated tape can be surely suppressed.
The manufacturing method for the thermal transfer ribbon in which a thermal transfer sheet is wound to a core includes at least a process of arranging both the core and a part to be indirectly fixed which rotates synchronously with the core, connecting an indirect fixing member to the part, and temporarily fixing one end of the thermal transfer sheet by the indirect fixing member to a predetermined point of the periphery of a winding part of the core; and a process of synchronously rotating the core and the part, thereby indirectly synchronously rotating the thermal transfer sheet and the core, and winding the thermal transfer sheet to the core.
